Lord Robert Winston, pioneer in fertility treatment and popular TV presenter, visited Ashbourne in October to deliver a lecture to GCSE and A level students about medicine and his own contributions to science and politics.

Robert Winston was made a life peer in 1995 for his pioneering work in IVF and is Professor of Science and Society and Emeritus Professor of Fertility Studies at Imperial College London. He has also produced many successful science and medicine-based documentaries for TV and radio.
