Regent Independent College is a member of the Council for Independent Education (CIFE). Each year CIFE invites the College to nominate an outstanding student to attend the annual awards ceremony. Nominees and their families enjoy a spring afternoon of tea and sandwiches overlooking the Thames in the Cholmondeley Room of the House of Lords. In April 2019, the College’s Head of Economics accompanied Ramya Logeswaran, her mother and sister to the CIFE Academic Awards, hosted by Lord Lexden, OBE. Lord Lexden is an educationalist, historian and writer. He presented Ramya with an award for her academic progress and commitment to study. The recognition of students’ efforts in this and other ways is a hallmark of our work at Regent, and provides not just motivation for students but happy memories, too.
