Bath student wins 2011 award
Bath academy student Arisa Autchayawat, was awarded the 2011 Paul Kitchener Memorial Foundation Course Award in a ceremony at the House of Lords this March.
Arisa, from Thailand, followed the University Foundation Programme, majoring in Business Organizations, Media Studies and Art. She had to return home to Thailand at the end of her second term of the programme in order to renew her visa; she then got caught up in the volcanic ash flight delays, the civil unrest in Bangkok and had her visa initially refused. This meant that she missed most of the teaching in her third term. Despite this, Arisa achieved A grades in all six modules of the UFP and an overall percentage of 84% coupled with a 7 at IELTS. She is now studying Business Administration at the University of Bath.
Arisa was awarded this prize because of her outstanding achievement across a broad range of subjects and the energy and passion with which she faced any difficulties.
