Three CCSS prizewinners

Wilson Li CIFE prizewinner from CCSSWilson Li radiated a genuine enthusiasm for his chosen subjects and always expressed a deep appreciation to his parents for giving him the chance to study Art, Fashion and Graphics at CCSS. From his very first day his hard work and commitment to CCSS shone through. On the extra curricular side, Wilson was a fantastic participant and motivator - he designed the school Christmas card, set up a Cross country club, organised the Christmas Revue, Sport Relief Mile and Summer Ball. He also organised and choreographed the Fashion Catwalk show almost single handed each year. He was excellent at mentoring new students and interviewing new staff.

Recently we were very glad to hear that Wilson had gained a place on the BA Fashion course at the internationally renowned Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.

We are very excited to see what Wilson will do in the future and hope he will return to create a designer CCSS uniform for our students in 2012 when he has completed his degree.

CCSS prizewinner Pond SamasiriPeeradon (Pond) Samasiri Winner of CIFE award for outstanding performance in Mathematics. Pond, from Thailand, studied for just one year in the UK and achieved four A levels at grade A without re-taking any units. He was awarded 600/600 for Mathematics and has a total of 13 units with full scores. He is now studying Geology and Geophysics at Imperial College.

Tian Sun CCSS Gold Award winnerTian Sun, from China, is currently studying Law at University College London. In her first year of A levels she completed Mathematics with a high A grade. She went on to gain an A grade in Further Mathematics and another in English Literature, with 3 full marks in her English Literature, 2 at A2! Alongside an A grade in Economics, and an A grade in AS Physics, Tian Sun also gained yet another grade A in History with 2 100%s in A2 units.

Tian Sun represented Cambridge Centre for Sixth-Form Studies at the Global Young Leaders' Conference in August 2008.

The judges for academic awards felt that Tian Sun's achievement marked her out as a winner of the Gold Award because her subjects at A level were so diverse. To have gained A grades in A level English Literature and History working in a non-native language is remarkable.
