Ahmed wins a CIFE best student award
We have known Ahmed since 2005 when he was taught alongside his brothers and sister at a small family school in Dubai, preparing for international GCSEs. In the summer of 2007 he attended our Oxford Advanced Studies Program at Somerville College, studying Medical Biology and Chemistry.
He joined Oxford Tutorial College the following September to study A levels in Chemistry, Biology and Business Studies with some additional tutorials in Japanese. In his spare time he gained his solo helicopter pilot's licence.
Ahmed was chosen to receive the CIFE Oxford Tutorial College Award as a result of a vote of the college's administrative team. Every member of staff appreciated Ahmed's positive attitude, politeness and above all, the enormous effort he put into his studies.
Ahmed's determination and perseverance were outstanding and his thirst for knowledge unquenchable. It is telling that one of his guests at the award ceremony was his tutor for Biology and Medical Biology. He probably has thought of some more queries he'd like to put to her!
