Brooke House College

Introduction
Brooke House specialises in preparing young people from abroad for entrance to U.K. Higher Education. Recent placements ranged from Trinity College, Cambridge to H.N.D. and Foundation level at post-1992 institutions; a spectrum of academic levels can be accommodated but prospective students must demonstrate a committed work ethic.

The College
The College offers A level, GCSE and University Foundation courses. EFL support is provided free of charge to all students who need it. A Reception course caters for students who need special help to adapt to the English curriculum. The University Foundation courses run from September-June and from January-August. Its small size (160 students) and high staffing level allow students to follow a flexible personal timetable within the course structure to achieve their optimum university placement. Students are assisted at all stages of the U.C.A.S. procedure, and help is offered to those interested in U.S. Universities.

Classes take place in dedicated teaching rooms and are backed by supervised private study and regular examination practice.

College Amenities
The main buildings are concentrated on the 2 acre campus surrounding 18th century Brooke House and on a separate specialist teaching campus 5 minutes walk away in the Market Harborough town centre.

Students are accommodated mainly in twin or single rooms, with a resident member of staff in each accommodation area for students under the age of 18. They are assigned to a Personal Tutor, responsible for their academic and pastoral well-being. There are opportunities for students to lodge with English families where it is felt this would benefit their progress.

All meals, 7 days a week, are provided in College during term-time. Accommodation and meals are also provided without charge throughout the Christmas and Easter holidays. Kitchen, laundry and common-room facilities with television and recreational amenities are provided throughout residential areas and wireless internet access is available in all areas of the College.

There is a full programme of optional sporting, cultural, social and leisure opportunities. Assistance is offered with immigration and visa issues.

Location
Market Harborough is a small town in central England, 12 miles from the city of Leicester and approximately 1 hour by train from London and Birmingham.
