About Chelsea College
Chelsea Independent College is a leading London sixth form offering A-level and retake courses, as well as a full GCSE programme. The college is located in stunning modern facilities, which used to form an Art Gallery used by the auctioneers Christies. Our neighbours and namesakes Chelsea Football club occupy facilities directly opposite to the college buildings.
We pride ourselves on being a small and friendly environment, with a warm family feel. Our tutors are selected not just for their considerable academic ability but also for their ability to relate to young people. The college also organises a full range of extra-curricular activities including sports and overseas trips. Our aim is to allow students to learn and prosper in a highly supportive and above all enjoyable environment.
Careful guidance is given to students applying to university in order to help them to choose the most appropriate course and institution. Nearly all of our students proceed to high ranking British universities with the focus always being on Russell group institutions. In addition a significant number of students proceed to competitive courses such as Medicine and Dentistry, as well as a variety of courses at Oxford and Cambridge.
The college accepts students for GCSE and A Level courses over the traditional two years as well as taking students for one year intensive courses at both levels. Students can also join us in the Upper Sixth for A2 courses. There are no restrictions on the combination of subjects which students may take and we offer 30 subjects at A Level. We will of course give students the best advice when it comes to planning their academic portfolio in order to help them make appropriate choices for university and their subsequent careers.
Students can also resit their courses at the college. The college offers both GCSE and A-level retakes as well as a short A-level retake course. Due to the January exams being abolished, students will be able to join a short course from January to May to study the course content for A2 level.
Students who register in September will be invited to specialist UCAS workshops in September and will be allocated a UCAS advisor who will assist with the university application process.
